Fun in the Sun!

We are having a great summer vacation. The boys get to be outside all day, every day, which they love. We have had to put a few restricitions on Jacob, or he would be outside looking for friends at 6:30 am! We have tried to stay busy (and out of grandma's hair!). One of the boys favorite things to do is paint with shaving cream on the table and of course on themselves.

We also went to the Gateway in Salt Lake to play in the Sprinklers. My boys have gotten so tan and blond, they look like they went somewhere much more tropical for vacation than Utah.

Jacob wanted to make sure we posted this picture of his humongous muscles! I promise we do feed Jacob. In fact, my mom can't believe how much he eats. Thank goodness he has great metabolism.

Laynie's cousin, Emerson, is absolutely in love with her! She wants to know what she is doing constantly and loves to "play" with her. She even made a "crown" for Laynie because she thinks she is such a princess!
P.S. Here is a picture of Laynie. She is getting bigger and bigger every day!

In Utah

Laynie and I have finally arrived in Utah. After three long weeks, it was so great to see the boys, and they were equally excited to see us! They have been so cute with Laynie. She is not the happiest baby in the world so we had to wait to take a picture until she had her eyes opened and wasn't crying. My boys were so easy as babies. I don't know what to do with a crying girl! We love her just the same, but can't wait until she can be awake and content!

I was very excited for Laynie to meet my sister Layna. I am very lucky to have Layna as a sister! She has so many qualities that I admire and I hope Laynie can grow to be like her (and her aunt Cammi Lynne too!)
Jackson was so excited to hold Laynie. He did a great job keeping her asleep!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Kelly and I have been blessed to have the most wonderful dads! They have set such a great example for Kelly and have helped him be the kind of dad he is today! Like our dads, Kelly always has his children's best interests at heart. He loves to have fun with them and spends every free moment he has with both our boys, and now Laynie. Kelly truly loves our children more than anything else. He reads to the boys every night, takes them to the park and on bike rides most every Saturday. He spends his Sunday afternoons building masterpieces out of Legos, and he even joined the Guitar Club at school so that he could spend more time with Jacob. We love you Kelly, and wish both our fathers a Happy Father's Day as well!

P.S. This is Laynie's first time wearing "real clothes". The dress is a little big, but she looked absolutely adorable in it! (Cammi, she did have a bow in her hair, but Kelly thought it was cutting off the circulation to her brain so he took it off!)

We Miss You!

Kelly and I miss the boys so much! Our house is way too quiet! Kelly, especially, is lost without his buddies! He loves to go on bike rides, play catch, go geocaching and to the park with the boys and now he is stuck with me and Laynie. He has tried to get Laynie to laugh and play with him like the boys would, but she just isn't cooperating!

We love both of you and can't wait to come to Utah! We will see you soon!

P.S. Do I have the most handsome boys, or what !?!

More of Laynie's Room

I can't help myself! I love decorating a girly room! We found this cutest pink chandelier which Kelly installed all by himself (cross your fingers, no house fire yet!). We hung the adorable quilt my mom made and the unbelievable banner my super creative friend Heidi made from the rosettes she crafted for my Baby Shower. I love to walk in her room and just breath in all the girliness!

Beautiful Pictures

My good friend Lindsay just got a new camera and offered to take pictures of Laynie. They turned out so great! She took over 100 pictures and I couldn't believe how cooperative Laynie was. My mom and I tried more than once to take pictures for Laynie's birth announcement and each session lasted only a few minutes before Laynie began to cry. Lindsay was able to get some beautiful pictures which I will use for Laynie's announcements as well as many more! Thanks Lindsay (Laynie will be your model anytime)!

We promise we didn't let her cry for long, but it is amazing how cute she looks, even when she is crying!

Good Bye Butterflies!

For Ryan's birthday he received a coupon for caterpillars. It was very interesting watching them change from caterpillars, to pupals, to chrysalids, and finally, to butterflies! You wouldn't have thought the whole process could be that interesting, but seriously, every time we passed the container, we had to stop and look. We were hoping that at least one butterfly would hatch before the boys left to go to Utah with my mom, and luckily, one did. When Kelly and I let all five butterflies go today, we were sad because the boys were not here to witness it. However, they are having so much fun in Utah and have not even had a chance to miss us yet! We are glad they are having a great time and are so thankful to my parents for being willing to take the boys so they could have a fun summer (school starts again on July 8th). Laynie's Doctor feels it is very important that she not go out in public until her adjusted due date which is June 17, so not much fun is happening at our house (well, unless you count watching Laynie eat, sleep and poop as fun!).

So, we are letting our two butterflies (that's you, Jacob and Ryan) fly away to Utah for the month of June, but don't forget where your home is! We look forward to seeing you in a few weeks!

Sneak Peek . . .

I loved having my mom here for the entire month of May! After months of feeling like I couldn't accomplish a thing, it was nice to get a few projects done. After working on the yards, we decided to work on Laynie's bedroom. It was so much fun to decorate a room in pink!

My mom made the cutest quilt for Laynie's room so we decided to center the room around it. We had already painted the room brown, and it matched the quilt perfectly.

Here are the curtains made from the same line of fabric as the quilt. I just love them. I can't wait until Laynie gets older and can begin to appreciate just how cute her room is!
