Ryan's Birthday Party!

Ryan turned six on Friday and we celebrated with a Buzz Lightyear Birthday Party! Ryan and 11 of his friends ran around like crazy for an hour and a half.

Kelly and I started to get really worried when we had already played with our Toy Story toys, played Pin the Tail on Slinky, and did the Freeze Dance while only 30 minutes had passed.

Luckily, the wind died down and the snow stopped long enough to send the kids outside to blow bubbles and do the Buzz Lightyear Pinata. We then had only enough time left for the kids to decorate their cupcakes and watch Ryan open his presents before parents began arriving. Ryan had such a great time with his friends and told me that I was "the best party planner ever!" Thanks, Ryan!

Baby Shower

A few of my good friends threw the cutest PINK baby shower for me. It was so fun having everything pink, including most of the presents. I received the most adorable outfits, as well as lots of diapers and other basics.

Aren't these little booties great ?!

My friend Lindsay, baked and baked to get ready for the shower. The food was delicious!

We had fun visiting and talking about all things baby! I am so grateful for good friends, and for a baby that is growing healthy inside of me (she is almost 35 weeks!).

Ryan is Six Years Old!

We are so excited that Ryan is turning six years old! He is such a sweet, kind and generous boy. He is quick to show love and forgiveness. He does have a bit of a temper (and a Grandpa Clyde vein in his forehead to prove it!), but it doesn't show very often. Ryan has a great sense of humor and loves to laugh. Here are a few pictures to show how Ryan has grown in the last six years.

This was one of the first pictures I received of Ryan after he was born. I did not get to see him in person until he was 24 hours old, and this picture was not the most comforting of images!

This is a picture of Ryan shortly before he came home from the hospital.

What a change, huh? Ryan grew and grew his first year. His first birthday cake was a pig, and as you can tell he enjoyed every bit of it!

Our Little Ninja

Ryan began Taekwondo a few weeks ago. Ryan could not wait to get his uniform (is that what it's called?)! He wants to wear it day and night. However, actually doing Taekwondo is another story. He tries his hardest, but this stuff takes a lot of coordination! He really is trying, and since we had to spend $50.00 for his suit (even though we already own one for karate which apparently is different than the one for Taekwondo) I told him he could not quit until he was good enough to costar in a Jackie Chan movie. So, when you see Ryan's name on the credits of a Jackie Chan movie you will know he has finally earned his keep!

Ward Talent Show

Who would have thought that the Stohl family had so much talent! Not me! Tonight was our Ward Talent Show and the boys showed off their guitar skills! Ryan sang with the boys, then they played the song as fast as they could and of course, the big finish was Jacob playing the guitar behind his head. He once again threw his pick into the audience. He truly believes he is a Rockstar, If fact, he told us that everyone said he was the best act of the night (not too much pride, right?). They did a great job and everyone really was impressed.

Pinewood Derby

Jacob has absolutely loved being a Scout. He received his first rank on Thursday night. He is now a Bobcat! As part of the ceremony, he had to pin a Bobcat pin on my sweater. He pinned it upside down and he must do a "good turn" before he can turn the pin right side up.

The Cub Scouts also held their Pinewood Derby on the same night. It was a lot of fun watching the boys get so excited when their car raced.

The competition was Double elimination. Although Jacob's car won several times, the only good video I got was when his car finally lost. (Sorry, Jacob!). Jacob's car is the gold one.

After the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby, they held a Ward Derby so Ryan was able to race his car. The boys (especially Kelly) had a great time making their cars and even more fun racing them. They picked up lots of good tips and are already planning their cars for next year!
